2nd MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE
CITY OF PATRAS 28-30/4/2017
The 2nd MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE in the city of Patras, Greece, successfully and in high praise concluded its proceedings;
450 delegates and 70 countries were represented; for three consecutive days debate, negotiation and juxtaposition were in order under the topic ‘Global integration or separatistic discrimination’; committees fired up when crises broke out and all delegates met the challenges they were faced with. All delegates debated passionately on international issues and combated fervently to resolve them exhibiting high academic caliber, quality of preparation and decorum.
The International Court of Justice simulation was excellently run by the renowned lawyer and simulator Mr. Robert Stern and deliberated on the issue Bolivia vs Chile regarding their access to the Pacific Ocean.
For the first time in Greece the International Monetary Fund was simulated debating upon foreign investment and the conditionality of financial assistance.
The Historical Committee devotedly debated on the Nazi Germany renaming itself and delegates exhibited profound knowledge on the topic and enhanced its perspective.
Delegates and advisors enjoyed the proceedings of the conference as well as the cordial atmosphere and the activities that run simultaneously such as the visit to the archeological site of Olympia, Peloponnese, Greece. The warm weather and the hospitable spirit gave all participants the chance to relish in the outskirts of the city and the school enjoying the sea view.
